This policy explains what information FindRivals ("FindRivals", "we", "us") processes when you use this website and its tools, why, and the choices you have. We have written it to be read, not skimmed.
1. The short version
- Your competitor projects are stored in your own browser (local storage). We do not receive them.
- With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand usage and Google AdSense to show ads. You can refuse or change your choice at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.
- If you use an AI feature, the text of that request is sent to the AI provider to generate an answer.
- We do not sell personal information.
2. Information stored on your device
The workspace and tools save your projects, preferences (theme, currency) and cached exchange rates in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device until you delete it (via your browser settings or the Delete button in the workspace). It is not sent to us. If you clear your browser data, it is gone; use Export to keep a backup.
3. Information we or our partners collect
Server and delivery logs. Our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically log technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time, to deliver and secure the site. These logs are kept for a limited period.
Analytics (with consent). If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 collects usage information such as pages viewed, device type, approximate location derived from IP address and events such as "tool started" or "report exported". We configure it without advertising features for analytics purposes. We do not send the content of your projects to analytics.
Advertising (with consent where required). Once ads are enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure performance and, with your consent, personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalised advertising in Google's My Ad Center and opt out of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
Contact form and email. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
AI features. When you click an AI button (for example "Find with AI"), the business description or analysis data you choose is sent to the AI provider that generates the answer. When FindRivals runs inside Claude, the request is processed by Anthropic on your own Claude account. On our website, requests are sent through our server to our AI provider. Do not include personal or confidential information in AI requests.
Exchange rates and fonts. Your browser requests exchange rates from open.er-api.com and fonts from Google Fonts. These providers receive your IP address as part of the request.
4. Why we process information (legal bases)
- To provide the website and tools you request (performance of a contract / legitimate interests).
- To keep the site secure and working (legitimate interests).
- Analytics and personalised advertising: your consent where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), otherwise our legitimate interest in measuring and funding a free service.
- To answer your messages (legitimate interests or steps before a contract).

6. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, advertising, email, AI and form processing), under contracts that limit their use of it, or when required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the ad services described above with your consent where required.
7. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. Retention
Browser-stored data: until you delete it. Contact messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends. Analytics data: up to 14 months. Server logs: typically up to 30 days.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because your projects never reach us, you control them directly in your browser. For anything else, email hello@findrivals.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children
FindRivals is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Browser storage is only as secure as your device; use a device and browser you trust, and export sensitive projects to secure storage.
12. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
